Kindergarten Curriculum.Reading readiness: Igloo.

One of our monthly theme is learning about Igloos so we read couple of books related to our subject.
The inside story: Igloo is a beginner book, the text is simple to read and it explains how Inuits build their Igloo homes.

Then we tried to do an Igloo craft using coconut shell halves and paper towel rolls.

We covered the coconut shell and the paper towel with white paper cuts.

then colored them with light blue

Then kids wrote journals entries.
They also tried to build igloos with snow blocks (white paper cuts) and labeled the parts.

Assalaamu Alaikum!
Nice and simple craft. I am sure they enjoyed playing with it after!

There are so many fun things you can do to incorporate different subjects. It makes learning more fun; especially for the younger ones!
