Reading Readiness.
Some of the books we read:
The Rainbow fish by Marcus Pfister
Me and My family tree by Joan Sweeney
The Family book by Todd Parr.
Then we did My Home and My Family lapbook where we tried to incorporate arts and crafts, writing, geography, language etc.I took most of the pictures before we completed all the sections because we included many personal info about ourselves.
Anyways, here are some of the pictures from our lapbook.

Door: address bookPet house: information about their favorite pets (even though we don't have any pets, they usually do pretend play with their favorite pets)
Address book: here kids can practice their address, zip code, phone numbers, ages etc.
Roof: Four steps to Fire Safety.
1st section includes information about kids and emergency phone numbers/fire station name etc
2nd section:4 steps to fire steps
White Kite:our friends sectionMy relatives (accordion book)- all about cousins, nephews, nieces, uncles and aunties.
House: practice doing bedroom and family room maps (geography)

Alhamdulillah we all enjoyed making this lapbook. This way it is easier to teach their address and all the basic info they need to know for now.

Very nice Mashaa'Allaah. Lovely lapbook. While teaching two at the same time do you usually let them share items together such as workbooks/lapbooks. I was wondering if you have to print extra material with two or you some how allow them to work together?

Umm Sumayya, inshaAlloh qilib koriylar, lapbook qilish jarayonidayam ancha narsalarni takrorlab, organib olishadi bolalar.
Umm Suhailah, most of the time they share their workbooks (geography, science,MEP maths, phonics and spelling skills). They take turns coloring, filling the gaps, reading the instructions etc. But sometimes I give them different worksheets mostly because I want Sarah do simpler worksheets than her brother. Also they both had their own big kindergarten workbooks and worked on their own.
