Kindergarten Curriculum: January. Arabic.

Kids are still practicing reading with Arabic comes first vocabulary worksheets. Some of the basic vocabulary they have learned during our preschool year, but I keep printing out the worksheets because they like to read the words in them. As I have said before words are written in big font and all the letters are very clear to read alhamdulillah.

While we were learning about the cake vocabulary we baked banana muffins and practiced the words as well as adding "al" to the words.
We kept naming the ingredients in Arabic while making the muffins.

We also did some activities from our Teach your child Arabic book.
After completing the activities I asked kids to choose three words and draw their pictures. They drew some pictures and Ibrahim wrote their names in Arabic and I helped Sarah to write her picture's names. I think this is also a good way to improve their writing skills while working on the vocabulary skills.
Sarah's words and pictures

Ibrahim's pictures and words

Both kids are practicing handwriting from their Arabic handwriting book 1 and 2.

Last time while we were at the library we saw these Little Pim fun with languages Arabic editions DVD's and brought home to take a look. Little Pim is a panda who teaches kids some Arabic words and simple sentences. There are small kids and real people, real things involved in making these videos and it seems like they are interesting enough for the kids.
We brought two DVD's: One is about playtime and the other is about Eating an Drinking. They keep saying ayna haqiybatiy all the time now : )

Assalaamu Alaikum!
Masha Allaah great activities!
I must look out for a nice work book for Maimoonah as this will be a nice way of learning to write Arabic as you say! She does not enjoy writing letters now and would like writing words I guess just like English! If you come across any online work books other than Arabic First please do let me know Insha Allaah!

Maashaa Allah! I love the Arabic work you have done, and adding the banana bread making was a good way to make it fun, maashaa Allah.

I almost forgot about the resources on the Arbic First site, maashaa Allah. Inshaa Allah ta'ala I will have to add some of these actvities in.

wa alaikum assalam,

InshaAllah if I see something I'll let you know Umm Maimoonah.

Jazakillahu khair Umm Khidr.

Umm Imaan, my kids like learning Arabic, they have been learning mostly vocabulary and handwriting. We do not speak to each other in Arabic :) I'm also learning arabic, I used Madina Arabic reader books with online videos and Al Arabiyyatu Bayna Yadayk (volume one) and Quranic Language Made easy. But I have never been to exposed to intensive learning, but I really wish that would happen in the future : )
May Allah make it easy for you and your girls. Ameen.
