Montessori inspired activities (part 2) Clothespins, numbers and felt.

As I have mentioned in my previous post last week we started setting up some Montessori inspired activities for kids especially Sarah. First we used clothespins and numbers then incorporated Arabic, shapes, felt mini clothes, math and colors. Alhamdulillah it was a fun experience.
The activities are suitable for toddlers, preschoolers and kindergartners : )

Clothespins and counting dots activities

Number wheel activity

arabic numbers 1-100 (and couple big numbers)

Sarah doing 1-20

Ibrahim doing 10-100.
At first I did 1-20 for Sarah and Ibrahim wanted to work with bigger numbers so here he is doing numbers 10-100 (1000 and 10000 too)

Color matching activity

Felt mini clothes hanging activity

two separate bags of mini clothes for the kids

practicing patterns (kids are working with patterns in the math workbook)

with left over felt we did shapes activity

after matching they made houses and trains

Again with left over felt we did color sort out activities

this is what kids did with left over felt (they asked me to cut certain shapes)

Assalaamu alaikum :)

Love it! Masha Allah I can so see my Zahra doing the clothes pin work, as it is she loves taking the things off the line outside :) I also find I need to keep her occupied with beneficial busy work, Montessori is great for that, it fosters independent working.

wa alaikum assalam,

Umm Imaan please try clothespin activities with your daughter too, I'm sure she will like them inshaAllah.
This was Sarah's first time using them, at first she could not hold them properly and now after some practice she is handling some good mashaAllah.

Umm Maimoonah, you are right and as Umm Imaan said I think these activities can help Sarah (as well as Ibrahim as I said he is also enjoying doing them)to be more independent and more confident inshaAllah.
